SHIFT in Orality Summer School of Remote Interpreting – 2018 edition

The University of Bologna’s Department of Interpreting and Translation will host a Summer School in Remote Interpreting, within the SHIFT in Orality Erasmus+ project, funded by the European Commission (June 11-16, 2018).

Introduction

The University of Bologna’s Department of Interpreting and Translation (DIT) will host a Summer School in Remote Interpreting, within the SHIFT in Orality Erasmus+ project, funded by the European Commission.

This first edition of the Summer School is specifically directed to students coming from the 4 SHIFT partner universities (University of Bologna - IT, University of Surrey - UK, University of Granada - ES, Pablo de Olavide University - ES). Participants will be selected by each partner university and they will all meet in Forlì for this week-long Summer School.

 

Dates & Programme

SHIFT in Orality Summer School of Remote Interpreting, June 11 – June 16, 2018

Intensive one-week course for MA students of interpreting with one of the following language combinations: Italian/English, Italian/Spanish, Spanish/English:

  • 48 hours of tuition in class (morning and afternoon)
  • remote activities once back at home

The teaching staff will include professors from the four SHIFT partner universities (University of Bologna - IT, University of Surrey - UK, University of Granada - ES, Pablo de Olavide University - ES), as well as trainers from the two companies that are member of the project and who provide remote interpreting services: Dualia SL (ES) and VEASYT Srl (IT).

The teaching activities correspond to 6 ECTS credits.

 

Venue

Courses will take place from Monday to Saturday at the Department of Interpreting and Translation, at the DIT.Lab Labs (Via Lombardini, 5, 47121 Forlì FC).

 

Registration Fees and Requirements

No registration fee is requested, as the Summer School is funded by Erasmus+ resources. Students must attend the full course in order for the expenses to be covered.
